Two Hundred Years to Say It
Synopsis
Solveig Marchetti-Nwosu keeps the Sunline: nine hundred amber lanterns that hold stored daylight and hold the two-hundred-year peace between Ambergate's humans and its vampires. On the eve of the Concord's renewal, the lanterns start failing and the Concord sends Ossian Kirkbride — its last living signatory, and the man Solveig believes murdered her father — to negotiate, waking a fated binding that physically tethers them together. Forced into one house, one investigation and one impossible truce, they uncover a plot to forge the city's stolen daylight into a weapon, and Solveig must decide whether the vow that chained her to her enemy is a sentence or the only thing that was ever hers to choose.
