When 26-year-old Bellamy Ntuli dies during a network outage in the Ardenmoor General emergency department, interim medical director Dr. Ravenna "Ven" Sotiriou becomes the named subject of a sentinel-event investigation led by Wilhelmina "Mina" Achterberg — the woman she slept with, anonymously, six weeks earlier.
